The weather in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was something that was totally exotic for me...I have lived on the East coast of Canada for all of my life, so naturally cold weather is second to my nature and it was the first time I travel to an equatorial country! I was shocked how humid it can get...my hair normally wavy, was all fuzzy and looked like a big old mop!!! Every Afternoon, it rained...not just regular rain but a thunderstorm with lightning and the whole shebang! But it only lasts for a couple of hours maximum! So in case you were wondering about the weather in KL, Malaysia get prepared for lots of heat, humidity, some rain and thunder but rest assured than there is Air conditioning everywhere so bring on a jacket cuz it can get pretty cool indoors! It is actually freezing in movie theaters!

I went for my job to Kuala Lumpur and stayed there for a couple of weeks and I have to agree with you on the points you raise...I was very surprised to see hopw well developed this city is in terms of infrastructure and construction...you have the impression that you are in a North American city while walking around the Petronas Towers...I love them...they are better and more picturesque than any towers I have seen in NY or Chicago etc.... Very impressive!

Most people do speak English so you will be okay, although I have to note that the people are not too friendly..they are not rude by any means, just not friendly, they do not smile or make small talk, etc...but very professional.

I was puzzled though by the presence of rodents in some streets..the city is very clean but you see rats squirming from one gutter to the other...a bit groce.. maybe they do not have enough cats? I don't know!
