(This poem is about never giving up, always being true to oneself, free of all attachments and remaining positive)
To look deep within me and like what I see
To spend a lifetime on my own, not once feel lonely.
To see bare beauty!
To see the weakness of others and not let it affect me
To see love fade away and not cling on to its shade,
To embrace the change!

Summary:

Harry and Sally, share a ride from Chicago to New York following their graduation. They keep bumping into each other life in New York, then decide to be friends. But can two people of the opposite sex be friends without sex getting in the way?

Review:

WHMS is a classic romantic comedy with one of the most clever scripts that ever embraced the silver screen. It is famed that the script was written by Nora Ephron after multiple interviews with the actors and cast of the movie as well as the various interviews that director Rob Reiner collected for the film (the various couples that appear throughout the film and talk on how they met,…etc).

(This poem describes my impression of a close friend who was suffering from a terminal illness….)

(This poem is describing an elusive moment)

Sitting in a Café

The taste of coffee

The sound of music

The cold sensation in my toes

The aroma of the wind

Wondering how it all could have been…

Summary:

Paula (Marsha Mason), a single mom with a precocious 10 year old daughter Lucy (Quinn Cummings), comes home to find that the man she is seeing abondonned her. Left with no money or job, she is further dismayed to find out that he sublet their NY apartment to Elliot (Richard Dreyfuss), a Chicago actor that then arrives for an off-Broadway acting job. Paula is left with no choice but to share the apartment with him despite her significantly disliking him.

Review:

‘The Goodbye Girl’ was released back in 1977 and remains today one of my most favorite romantic movies of all time with a smooth and elegant script, lots of warmth, and classic performances by the trio (Dreyfuss, Mason, and Cummings).
