(This poem is about the beauty in this world, fine things that matter, and nonsensical injustice on the large scale… How we must write our thoughts and knowledge before we pass on…)
If I had nothing left for me in this world;
If I lose my one true love, my family,
My home and all my money,
I will draw on my pencil
And write down the script of my life
Pour out all that is in me….
I will write about all those that I loved,

Summary:

While driving through Alabama to their spring break, a series of coincidences lands two ‘yuts’ (youths) in jail, accused of murder. Unable to afford a ‘real’ attorney, Bill and Stan decide to have Vinny (Joe Pesci), Bill’s cousin, defend them. Vinny has never won a case before and it took him 7 years of trying to finally pass his bar exam. Vinny jumps on the opportunity and heads to Alabama from New York accompanied by his fiancee, Mona Lisa (Marisa Tomei).

Review:

My Cousin Vinny is a hilarious and very entertaining movie thanks to a clever (must ignore the plot holes) and funny script and excellent performances by Pesci and Tomei. Marisa ended up nabbing an Academy award for ‘Best Supporting Actress’ (The most controversial award in the history of oscars as it was claimed that Jack Palance, the then award presenter, was drunk and called her name by mistake, something Marisa refers to as a cruel rumour by one of the other award nominees).

Summary:

Colin Farrell plays Stuart a ‘fly high’ stuck up publicist who finds hismself hostage in a phone booth when he answers its ringing phone. With a laser red light pointed to his chest, the message is unambiguous: “Hang up and You’ll Die”.

Review

Reportedly shot in a record 10 days, Phone Booth is a very enagaging thriller and one the best this year. Kudos to Joel Shumacher (Falling Down, Batman & Robin,…) for a job well done and non stop masterful suspense that leaves one at the edge of his seat throughout the movie’s 80 minutes.

Saw this movie yesterday and it was quite funny. Steve Martin, Eugene Levy and Queen lattifah did a great job and the movie while filled with racial jokes, is quite entertaining.

Favorite Lines:

Charlene: ” You can kiss my naturally black ass.”

Peter (to his ex wife’s sister): “Ashley, who are you doing here?”

“I thought I heard negro.”

Peter’s young kid: “Dad, what’s a rack?”
Peter: “It’s a country”.

There are many laughs in this entertaining, funny, and pleasant to watch movie with good performances by Jack Nicholson, Adam Sandler, and Marisa Tomei. The script has lots of holes but the movie is enjoyable nevertheless. My favorite scenes include:
1) Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson singing ‘I feel Pretty’ …..LOL. A classic.
2) Adam Sandler being subdued on the airplane (“Calm down sir, calm down”. “I AM calm” )

3) Adam Sandler lawyer attempt that the blind assaultee is not really blind :)

(This Poem describes the night club scene through a man’s perspective with a twist of Drama of course)

Thoughts in his head come and go,
As he sits and absorbs the whole club scene
As loud music plays
Blocking all prospects of conversation,
Thoughts in his head come and go
As he looks around in a blaze
