I was again ecstatic today as I noted another 3 lbs drop in weight. Wonderful.
My chest and biceps numbers today remain unchanged with the exception of lifting an additional 10 pounds on the incline press (120 lbs vs. 110 lbs last week).
I am still doing 4 sets of 10 reps each (plus 1 warmup set) for each exercise.
Things are looking good.
Today my third week of training ended with Shoulders and Abs. There has been no additional progress beyond the chest exercises noted on day 1 of this week. All other exercises, with the exception of abs, remained virtually the same. As for abs, I did 30 reps instead of 25 on the first two sets of each exercise then 25x/set for rest.
The progress noted in the chest exercises yesterday did not materialize today with the back and triceps exercises. All numbers remain identical :(
It’s ok though. I’ll keep on going.
I must say that it was with significant anxiety and anticipation that I stepped on the weight scale today. I had earlier promised myself that I shall not be discouraged if weight remains the same and that my faith in what I am doing will not be shaken.
I was relieved to find out that I have indeed dropped 3 lbs. Hallellujah!
I am now more energized and more determined to keep on going.
I needed that tiny boost in motivation.
My chest numbers at the gym improved significantly as well and that was even more surprising. I knew that I was below my ability but did not expect a major improvement that quickly. It seems that weekend of rest did its trick on me.
With all variables remaining same as last week, I lifted 120 lbs on chest press (up from 80 lbs), 110 lbs on incline press (up from 70 lbs) and 90 lbs on Fly Maneuver (up from 70 lbs).
The biceps numbers remain unchanged however. My trainer believes however that my form has improved in this regard. So maybe I did improve after all.
I am hoping that I will continue to see improvement on other days as well.
I completed another 4 days training cycle today. All went well and all numbers remain unchanged. My trainer believes this is normal as my body is readjusting to exercise. He expects musce memory to kick in and that I should gradually start seeing my numbers improve.
I have not weighed myself since Monday as per my decision to measure my weight once a week, every Monday immediately after waking up. This I find eseential for consistency and preventing neurotic obsession with weight measurement.
I am doing well on my nutrition and have abided mostly by my new eating lifestyle. Sweet cravings are becoming almost non existent. Junk food is now completely phased out. I do not even desire french fries anymore. That by itself is an achievement. I hope that I will be nicely rewarded on Monday when I again check my weight.
I started the second week of my ‘Must get back in shape’ mission.
Even though I was not anticipating any drop in weight, it sure would have been nice to find one :) . Unfortunately, that did not happen but that’s expected.
My weights were identical to one week ago. I was sore all weekend but am feeling good today.
